SecurityScorecard Applauds House Passage of the PILLAR Act as a Milestone for National Cyber Resilience

The U.S. House of Representatives has officially passed the PILLAR Act, a landmark effort aimed at strengthening America’s cyber resilience across federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) partners. SecurityScorecard is proud to see growing bipartisan and industry support for a bill that prioritizes continuous visibility, supply-chain security, and actionable threat intelligence at a time of increasing global cyber pressure.

SecurityScorecard’s Head of Public Policy, Michael Centrella, was quoted directly in the House Committee on Homeland Security’s announcement of the bill’s passage.

As Mike noted in the official release:

“The PILLAR Act is a critical piece of legislation that advances the resilience of our national digital infrastructure at a moment when cyber threats are accelerating in both sophistication and scale.”

This perspective reflects SecurityScorecard’s broader mission: empowering organizations and government partners with continuous, outside-in visibility to identify, measure, and mitigate cyber risk, especially within complex supply chains. The PILLAR Act aligns directly with that mission by emphasizing proactive detection, improved collaboration, and stronger operational readiness across sectors.

Why SecurityScorecard Supports the PILLAR Act

The legislation represents a significant step forward because it:

  • Strengthens SLTT cyber resilience, an area consistently targeted by ransomware and state-linked threat actors.
  • Elevates supply-chain security, reinforcing the need for continuous monitoring and third-party visibility—core capabilities of SecurityScorecard’s platform.
  • Improves national-level threat coordination, ensuring better information-sharing between federal agencies and industry.
  • Supports measurable cyber outcomes, moving beyond point-in-time compliance toward persistent operational vigilance.

With cyber threats rising in both scale and sophistication, America’s digital infrastructure requires a unified, evidence-driven approach. The PILLAR Act helps get us there.

SecurityScorecard looks forward to continued engagement with Congress, federal agencies, SLTT partners, and industry leaders as the bill progresses through the legislative process. We remain committed to providing the visibility, analytics, and supply-chain intelligence needed to operationalize the goals outlined in the PILLAR Act.
