Scorecarder Spotlight: Noor Al-Baker

Our “Scorecarder Learning & Development Spotlight” series showcases our talented, driven employees, the incredible work they do, and their quest to continue their development as lifelong learners.

Name: Noor Al-Baker

Role: Customer Success Manager

Tell us a little about your personal & professional background.

Outside of work, I stay pretty active and love anything that gets me moving — from paddle, surfing, Pilates, crossfit I’ve done it all. Cooking is another big passion of mine. I find it super relaxing and a fun way to get creative.

I’m also a proud dog mom to two small, very energetic boys who basically run my house. They definitely keep life interesting and always bring a bit of joy (and chaos) to my life.

Professionally, my background is in customer facing roles in tech: from sales, to account management and customer success.

I also have a deep love for languages and travel — I speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Arabic, and have had the chance to live in a few different countries, which has shaped how I approach both work and life.

What made you select the ComTIA Security+ certification program?

I decided to go for the Security+ certification because I felt it was time to start building a stronger foundation in that area.  I wanted to feel more confident navigating conversations around risk, data protection, and compliance. It’s something I’ve been meaning to dive into for a while, and I’m really glad I finally took the leap.

I’m also planning to continue the journey and tackle the CySA+ next!

What have you learned thus far? What are you looking forward to learning as you complete this program?

One of the biggest takeaways was realizing just how many layers there are to security — it’s not just about tools or firewalls, but about people, habits, and proactive thinking. The certification helped me understand how attackers operate, how systems are defended, and how everyday actions (like how we handle passwords or manage access) play a huge role in preventing incidents.

It also gave me a clearer picture of how everything ties together, from encryption and network architecture to threat intelligence. I walked away with a much deeper respect for the field and the people who work in it full-time.

How will you apply this information to your role/to SSC?

It’s already changed the way I approach conversations — both internally and with clients.

I feel more prepared to spot potential risks, ask better questions, and advocate for best practices.

It’s also helped me understand the bigger picture when it comes to the tools we use and support. I’m excited to keep learning and also to bring more security awareness into the work I do every day.
