Tell us a little about your professional background. 

I have over a decade of experience in both the small and mid-market commercial insurance segments as a technology underwriter and sales executive. My subject matter expertise includes Cyber Insurance and Tech E&O. I previously hosted the “Beyond the Policy” podcast, which aims to bridge the gap between technology startups and insurance brokers that have to do business together but often speak a different language.

 

You recently enrolled into the Certified Cyber Insurance Specialist course through the Cyber Insurance Academy. What made you want to take this course to further your professional development? 

The Certified Cyber Insurance Specialist course is the perfect intersection of Cyber Security & Cyber Insurance. Choosing this path helped level up my knowledge on Cyber Security and how it directly applies to Cyber Insurance so I can be a better resource to both internal folks at SecurityScorecard as well as our external Partners.

 

What have you learned thus far? What are you looking forward to learning as you complete this program?

I’ve learned a solid foundation of Cyber Security and Network terminology and I expect to learn how to apply that seamlessly to Cyber Insurance underwriting and evaluation.

 

How will you apply this information to your role/to SSC?

I’ll apply this knowledge internally with Scorecarders to better serve our Enterprise customers and how they can further utilize our platform for positive Cyber Insurance outcomes. I’ll also apply this knowledge externally to our Strategic Partners in order to help them better understand how to apply our tools and data for better underwriting and portfolio monitoring decisions.

Using this knowledge, I also recently gave a webinar presentation to their current students and alumni around SecurityScorecard’s risk ratings and how they apply to the cyber insurance process.
