Now You Can See European Union Vulnerability Database (EUVD) IDs in the SecurityScorecard Platform
Third-party risk management is complex as teams often struggle to track vulnerabilities across different data sources and standards. This can be especially challenging when working with vendors in the European Union, who may rely on a different set of databases with naming standards that don’t always align with U.S. standards.
To help you gain full visibility and take faster action, we have added the European Union Vulnerability Database (EUVD) as a new data source to the SecurityScorecard platform.
Now, you get a more complete view of your vendors’ security posture, even if they’re located across the Atlantic Ocean.
What This Means for Your Vulnerability Management
Adding the EUVD to our platform gives you a number of advantages for managing vulnerabilities within your ecosystem.
- Gain a comprehensive view. You can now see EUVD IDs as alternative identifiers on the relevant CVE page so issues don’t slip through the cracks. We also include an outgoing link to the corresponding entry in the EUVD for easy reference and additional context for each vulnerability.
- Work more efficiently. We updated the platform’s API endpoint for vulnerability details to accept EUVD IDs. You can now request vulnerability details using either a CVE ID (for example, CVE-2024-1234) or an EUVD ID (for example, EUVD-2024-5678). This streamlines your workflows, cutting down on the manual effort required to manage your vendor ecosystem across borders.
- Enable faster response. This new data source helps you to identify vulnerabilities more effectively, especially for vendors operating within the European Union. It improves your ability to address emerging threats before they impact your business. Having an additional source of truth for vulnerability data strengthens your security posture and helps you prevent potential business disruptions.
These changes help you move beyond basic compliance and build a more resilient security program to protect your business from third-party threats, whether your vendors are in Europe, the United States, or both.
