BOC Hong Kong is an investment holding company that provides banking and related financial services to corporate and individual customers. It operates through four segments: Personal Banking, Corporate Banking, Treasury, and Insurance. Both Personal Banking and Corporate Banking segments provide general banking services including various deposit products, overdrafts, loans, credit cards, trade-related products, and other credit facilities, investment and insurance products, and foreign currency and derivative products. The Personal Banking segment mainly serves retail customers and small enterprises, while the Corporate Banking segment mainly deals with corporate customers. The Treasury segment manages the funding and liquidity, and the interest rate and foreign exchange positions in addition to proprietary trades. The Insurance segment represents business mainly relating to life insurance products, including individual life insurance and group life insurance products.
