Celanese is a global chemical and specialty materials company. It operates through the following segments: engineered materials, acetyl chain, cellulose acetate, and food ingredients. The engineered materials segment develops, produces, and supplies a portfolio of high-performance specialty polymers for automotive and medical applications, as well as industrial products and consumer electronics. The acetyl chain segment produces and supplies acetyl products, including acetic acid, vinyl acetate monomer, acetic anhydride, and acetate esters. This segment also offers organic solvents and intermediates for pharmaceutical, agricultural and chemical products. The cellulose acetate segment produces acetate tow and acetate flake, primarily used in filter products applications. The food ingredients sector produces the sweetener acesulfame K and the preservatives potassium sorbate and sorbic acid.
