In an attempt to better secure the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) supply chain, the Department of Defense (DoD) established the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). By 2025, every prime contractor and subcontractor will need to prove compliance to bid on DoD contracts.
