As we come to the end of another year, SecurityScorecard is excited by the momentum in our market. When founders Alex Yampolskiy and Sam Kassoumeh started SecurityScorecard (SSC), it was out of frustration. As a former Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and security practitioner (at companies like Goldman Sachs, Oracle, Gilt Groupe) respectively, they felt the methods for assessing vendor risk were inefficient, incomplete, and simply check-the-box compliance. Moreover, they never knew the true ROI of their security efforts and how it benchmarked against similar organizations or competitors. Founding SSC was done as a commitment to an audacious vision: make the online world safer, through security ratings.
As we look back at 2019, it’s clear that cybersecurity risk ratings became mainstream and SecurityScorecard was delighted to lead that charge. With our security ratings, customers can now see what their adversaries see – from the outside looking in. As companies continue to incorporate scorecards into their operations, they’re saving time, improving the efficiency of their vendor risk management programs and adding new capabilities to their own continuous self monitoring. In addition, CISO’s and their teams now possess a toolbox and framework for effectively communicating risk to their C-suite and Board of Directors.
SecurityScorecard is taking our leadership in this market seriously. With the additional $50 million in capital raised this year, we are investing extensively in innovation and growth – with our customers and the greater ecosystem reaping the benefits.
