In the world of information security, conferences are an invaluable resource for security professionals. Keeping up with the latest threats and innovations is a monumental task for anyone alone, which is why conferences are so integral for disseminating new information via discussion, training, workshops, and opportunities to network with experts and peers in the cybersecurity space.

That’s why we’ve put together a list of 50 upcoming conferences happening in the rest of 2019. Most are in the US, many are international. From venerated institutions to upstart hacking collectives, we’ve dug deep to identify conferences with something special to offer, whether you’re a CISO or amateur enthusiast.

We didn’t rank these events, but they are listed chronologically for easier browsing. Some conferences haven’t announced a date or location at the time of publication, so be sure to keep checking their official sites for updates.

Held in downtown Indianapolis, CircleCityCon includes contests, three tracks of talks, entertainment, and technical villages. The event covers topics covering security and hacking, with a signature offering of community-led classes open to all participants.

Location: Austin, TX

The agenda for this four-day event is packed with technical hands-on learning experiences, best practices, and customer deployment stories. InfoSecurity Europe

Hack in Paris

Date: June 16 - 20, 2019

Location: Paris, France

Hack In Paris is a 5-day corporate event designed to educate attendees with professional training and info sessions. The conference covers a range of topics surrounding the real-world impact security threats can have on business, including industrial espionage, penetration testing, physical security, forensics, malware analysis techniques, and countermeasures.

FIRST Conference

Location: Edinburgh, UK

FIRST is a non-profit organization and global forum where incident response and security teams come together to promote incident prevention programs and handle computer security incidents. Gartner’s Security & Risk Management Summits

Location: National Harbor, MD

At the Gartner Security & Risk Management Summit is a leadership and technology summit where you’ll learn how to shift organizational culture to improve cybersecurity and privacy, as well as leadership and communication skills to get business leaders on board with making security and risk enterprise-wide priorities. International Conference on Cyber Security (ICCS 2019)

Started in 1993, DEF CON is one of the oldest and largest continuously running hacker conventions. Originally founded as a party for members of "Platinum Net,” a Fido protocol-based hacking network out of Canada, it now attracts more than just hackers — including lawyers, law enforcement agents, cryptographers, and more.

The Diana Initiative

The Diana Initiative’s mission is to “encourage diversity and support women who want to pursue careers in information security, promote diverse and supportive workplaces, and help change workplace cultures.” It’s a casual, welcoming environment designed to nurture talent within the community, especially for women and non-binary individuals.

28th USENIX Security Symposium

Date: August 14 - 16, 2019

Location: Santa Clara, CA

USENIX Security brings together researchers, practitioners, system administrators, system programmers, and others to share and explore the latest advances in the security and privacy of computer systems and networks. The conference hosts a variety of events covering any aspect of computing systems security and privacy.

GSX 2019

Date: September 8 - 12, 2019

Location: Chicago, IL

GSX 2019 is presented by ASIS International, the world’s largest association for security management professionals. GSX 2019 provides a full conference program of over 300+ security courses and pre-conference certification review courses for professionals at every level.

Location: Louisville, KY

Since its inception, the goal of DerbyCon has been to create a fun, welcoming environment where professionals and hobbyists from all walks of the security community can come together to share ideas and concepts. There’s just as much emphasis on socializing as there is on learning, and is open to anyone interested in sharpening their information security skills.

Global AppSec - DC

Location: Washington, DC

Hosted by the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), Global AppSec - DC is a 3-day training and 2-day conference equips developers, defenders, and advocates to build a more secure web. The agenda includes talks, trainings, keynotes from industry leaders, and vendor booths promoting the latest advances in security technology.

44CON London 2019

Date: September 11 - 13, 2019

Location: London, UK

44CON London is three days of classes, networking, and socializing with IT security professionals from across Europe and beyond. The conference’s size is its advantage — unlike larger conferences where 1:1 time with experts is limited, 44CON attendees get direct personal access to expert speakers willing to discuss their work in the security field.

Techno Security & Digital Forensics Conference

BruCON 2019

30th ISF Annual World Congress

The 30th ISF Annual World Congress is the Information Security Forum’s global flagship event.  It offers attendees the chance to learn from peers and industry experts from around the world, and discuss current security challenges and their solutions in a confidential peer-group environment

Cybersecurity & Cloud Expo North America

The Cyber Security & Cloud Expo North America 2019 is two days of discussion around the impact of cybersecurity and the cloud have on a variety of industries — government, energy, financial services, and healthcare, amongst others. DeepSec brings together the world's most renowned security professionals to this annual European conference. The event’s guiding principle is neutrality — submitted talks and trainings are accepted solely on merit, and newcomers are often chosen over industry rock stars. DeepSec is also a non-product, non-vendor-biased event, with a preference for “facts over ads.”

CISO Executive Summit Series
