In the world of information security, conferences are an invaluable resource for security professionals. Keeping up with the latest threats and innovations is a monumental task for anyone alone, which is why conferences are so integral for disseminating new information via discussion, training, workshops, and opportunities to network with experts and peers in the cybersecurity space.
That’s why we’ve put together a list of 50 upcoming conferences happening in the rest of 2019. Most are in the US, many are international. From venerated institutions to upstart hacking collectives, we’ve dug deep to identify conferences with something special to offer, whether you’re a CISO or amateur enthusiast.
We didn’t rank these events, but they are listed chronologically for easier browsing. Some conferences haven’t announced a date or location at the time of publication, so be sure to keep checking their official sites for updates.

Held in downtown Indianapolis, CircleCityCon includes contests, three tracks of talks, entertainment, and technical villages. The event covers topics covering security and hacking, with a signature offering of community-led classes open to all participants.

Hack In Paris is a 5-day corporate event designed to educate attendees with professional training and info sessions. The conference covers a range of topics surrounding the real-world impact security threats can have on business, including industrial espionage, penetration testing, physical security, forensics, malware analysis techniques, and countermeasures.

FIRST is a non-profit organization and global forum where incident response and security teams come together to promote incident prevention programs and handle computer security incidents. Started in 1993, DEF CON is one of the oldest and largest continuously running hacker conventions. Originally founded as a party for members of "Platinum Net,” a Fido protocol-based hacking network out of Canada, it now attracts more than just hackers — including lawyers, law enforcement agents, cryptographers, and more.

The Diana Initiative’s mission is to “encourage diversity and support women who want to pursue careers in information security, promote diverse and supportive workplaces, and help change workplace cultures.” It’s a casual, welcoming environment designed to nurture talent within the community, especially for women and non-binary individuals.

USENIX Security brings together researchers, practitioners, system administrators, system programmers, and others to share and explore the latest advances in the security and privacy of computer systems and networks. The conference hosts a variety of events covering any aspect of computing systems security and privacy.

Hosted by the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP), Global AppSec - DC is a 3-day training and 2-day conference equips developers, defenders, and advocates to build a more secure web. 44CON London is three days of classes, networking, and socializing with IT security professionals from across Europe and beyond. Canada’s premier IT security education conference, SecTor brings together experts from around the world to share the latest research and techniques involving underground threats and corporate defences. EC-Council's annual information security conference, Hacker Halted, spotlights advanced ethical hacking training with over 40 presentations and panels with industry thought leaders over two days in Atlanta, GA. Attendees can sign up for a 2-day event pass, or dive in with a 4-day training package.

Held annually in Belgium, BruCON hosts presentations and workshops that address critical security topics like privacy, information technology, and the broader societal implications of informational security. GrrCON brings together CISOs, hackers, security practitioners, and researchers for two days to connect with like-minded people in a fun atmosphere without all the “elitist ‘Diva’ nonsense,” as they put it. The Cyber Security & Cloud Expo North America 2019 is two days of discussion around the impact of cybersecurity and the cloud have on a variety of industries — government, energy, financial services, and healthcare, amongst others. This year’s dedicated tracks include Enterprise Security: Emerging Tech and Regulations, IoT and Digital Transformation, and Developing Cloud Security Solutions.

DeepSec brings together the world's most renowned security professionals to this annual European conference. The event’s guiding principle is neutrality — submitted talks and trainings are accepted solely on merit, and newcomers are often chosen over industry rock stars. DeepSec is also a non-product, non-vendor-biased event, with a preference for “facts over ads.”
Hosted by Evanta — a Gartner Company — the CISO Executive Summit Series is an invitation-only gathering created “by CISOs, for CISOs,” the conference features content from practicing CISOs and current industry thought leaders, driven by the goal to “minimize time commitments while maximizing the depth of a true peer-to-peer engagement in an intimate setting.”
Bsides was created as a response to the typical constraints conferences face — schedules and physical capacity. Each BSides is a “community-driven framework for building events for and by information security community members.” Fostering an intimate atmosphere that encourages collaboration, it’s an intense event with discussions, demos, and interaction from participants.
Providing more content and facilitating more professional connections than any other event in the cybersecurity industry, SecureWorld provides affordable, high-quality training and education for security professionals from nationally recognized industry leaders.
Hack In The Box Security Conference (or HITBSecConf) is held annually in multiple locations around the world, and typically features two days of trainings and a two-day multi-track conference featuring hardcore technical talks delivered by the most respected names in the industry.
Part of the fastest growing cybersecurity event series, Cyber Security X Chicago hosts events that address the entire security landscape, covering all facets of cybersecurity and risk mitigation. After two successful years, 2019 will be an “investment and R&D year” for the conference, due to resume in 2020.
Open to professionals and amateurs of all levels looking to improve their security skills, “La Nuit Du Hack” offers lectures and challenges with the goal of educating the general public on modern risks, demystifying techniques used by “pirates,” and promoting a free exchange of information.
Started in New York City in 2013, the Cyber Security Summit connects C-level and senior executives with renowned security experts and cutting-edge technology to better understand how to protect their companies’ infrastructure.
IANS hosts a variety of regional security conferences across the country, connecting clients with experts and experts with each other. IANS forums feature 2-day events with keynotes, breakout sessions, technology spotlight sessions, and networking breaks. Other IANS events include, webinars, symposiums, and CISO roundtables.
